About the Band
Keyboardist/Guitarist/Vocalist, Chris Laurenzo, Guitarist/Vocalist, Ritch Harrigan along with drummer Matt Waskewicz and Guiarist/Vocalist Dan Noonan make up BIFF STEEL. With their roots in blues rock the group is big on improvisation and jamming. Ritch has been a member of a number of local groups including the Sofa Kings and Last Exit, and while at school has formed a second group with a structured style, Sexcabob.
In December of 1999 Ritch formed Room 217 with Chris where together (with the help of Last Exit's Pete and Matt Mattice) they debuted at a Christmas Aid Concert charity gig. With the addition of Matt Waskewicz as a permanent drummer, the group changed it's name to Biff Steel and played a variety of shows throughout the Captial Region.
Following Ritch's departure to SUNY College at Oneonta in the Fall of 2000, Chris moved up to Guitar and the group was joined by new bassist Eric Straub. After a few appearances locally though, Strauby and Biff Steel parted ways. Replacing him now is Dan Noonan who filled in for Ritch on a few occassions while he was away.
